Downtown Montreal throbs to the beat of Sainte-Catherine Celebrates, the largest sidewalk sale in Canada. The street is closed to automobiles in order to accommodate the huge crowds that turn out for this annual event, which has become an essential part of summer in Montreal. Dancers, singers and DJs are on hand to create a festive atmosphere. Stores will be outside so that bargain hunters can take advantage of the biggest sale of the year on Sainte Catherine Street.
