The Orchestre Métropolitain transports you to Eastern Europe on virtuoso wings! Opening this scintillating concert is the brilliant overture to Smetana's Bartered Bride. Dvorák's Cello Concerto, recognized as the most grandiose concerto in the whole cello repertoire, masterfully combines technical wizardry and profound musical discourse. The young and brilliant cellist Stéphane Tétreault returns as soloist for this masterpiece. The concert also features Kodály?s dizzying Dances of Galánta and Bartók's The Miraculous Mandarin, a tragic urban ballet tinged with fantasy.
