A Taste of the Caribbean - Montréal festival

Come and celebrate the smells, tastes, sights and sounds of the Caribbean and "Escape to the Caribbean" without leaving Montreal!
A Taste of the Caribbean - Fabulous cuisine and a celebration of cultural & creative diversity. On Sunday, May 27, 2012 the 13th Annual "A Taste of the Caribbean" Festival will be held at Marché Bonsecours in the heart of Old Montreal overlooking the beautiful waters of the St. Lawrence River.A Taste of the Caribbean, with its 2012 theme, "Caribbean Escape" will feature over 75 Caribbean dishes from over 14 Caribbean Countries prepared by local and visiting Caribbean Executive chefs. Guests are invited to enjoy cultural dance performers, sample exquisite fine award-winning Caribbean rums, dance to live steelband and Orchestras and view a wonderful fashion show entitled "Hats Off to Jamaica", commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jamaica's Independence. Also celebrating their 50th Anniversary with us will be the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. With the beat of the steel drums,soca and calypso orchestras and feathered costumes carnival dancers, you won't want to miss this "BigTrini Lime".
Discover the smells, tastes, sights, and sounds of the Caribbean. A Taste of the Caribbean presents a colourful program with panpipe music, Caribbean orchestras and folk dancers, and, of course, a tasting of culinary specialties from more than 20 Caribbean islands. Cultural presentations and craft vendors will also be part of the event.
