NEXT 2 Exam Pattern
The essence of the NEXT 2 exam revolves around testing the clinical proficiency of a recent MBBS graduate, offering various possibilities in its approach.

Previously, the USMLE included a section known as the USMLE Step 2 CS, which evaluated a doctor's practical patient handling skills. Although this test is no longer part of the USMLE, the nature of questions posed in Step 2 CS provides a potential framework for the questions in NEXT 2.

Ideally, in such a scenario, the doctor would interact with a simulated patient, examining them, drawing conclusions, proposing a treatment plan, and progressing accordingly. This format is time-intensive, and it wouldn't be surprising if, similar to the USMLE, the NEXT 2 exam spans over a duration of 8 hours.

However, with the onset of the COVID pandemic, there is a heightened sense of caution, making direct interaction with real patients challenging. An alternative with a likelihood of adaptation could involve computer-simulated case studies, where the doctor engages with virtual patients to diagnose and treat them.
