Inside the igloo shaped hut, red hot rocks are placed in the middle of the circle. Water and medicinal herbals are sprinkled on the rocks. The steam released cleanses the body as it sweats out the toxins. Drumming, rattling and chanting holds the beat that soothes and calms the mind. Guided imagery takes you on your healing journey into yourself. The igloo shape is symbolic of a mothers womb. It is pitch dark inside. You are going into the womb of Mother Earth to re-create and re-birth yourself in your image. Another way of looking at it is like a cocoon. You are going into the dark, into the cocoon to re-create and then emerge as the butterfly. The experience is empowering, transformative, life-altering and definitely memorable.
