In his Symphony ?From the New World,? which captivated audiences beginning with its first performance, Dvorák narrates in music his stay on American soil. In a complementary register and every bit as atmospheric, Janácek?s Sinfonietta is a hymn to life and to nature. Gifted with a technical facility that enables him to transcend difficulties in the score, Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire here performs Mozart?s Concerto in D minor, regarded by many as the most accomplished of Mozart?s works for soloist and orchestra.
