Hear the remarkable story of King Babar, brilliantly set to music by one of France’s greatest composers, Francis Poulenc. At once touching, entertaining, and majestic, this piece brings you the adventures of the little elephant through an evocative array of musical forms: the lullaby sung by Babar’s mother, the musette waltz of the pastries, the wedding march and polka, and the lovely finale—a nocturne bathed in moonlight.
A tale full of twists and turns, accompanied by colourful, dynamic music that will definitely have your family moved to tears and to laughter!
