My client is a well-established IT Consulting Company located in Montreal, QC. They are looking for a SQL Database Administrator.
This is a 12 month Contract with a strong possibility of an extension.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that new database code meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performance
- Install and configure new SQL Servers
- Design indexes for existing applications
- Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
- Manage performance issues and provide on-call support when problems arise.
- Document the companys database environment
- Learn and Maximize use of monitoring and development tools
- Designing tables and picking datatypes
- Monitor and create table backups
- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
