Mari State University, founded in 1972 and situated in Yoshkar Ola, the capital of the Mari El Republic, Russia, is home to the Mari State Medical University. Currently, the university hosts 8,000 students pursuing MD or MBBS degrees. Operating as a non-profit institution in Russia, Mari State University encompasses seven faculties and four schools specializing in MD or MBBS programs:
1. Physics and Mathematics
2. History and Philology
3. Agriculture and Biology
4. Chemistry
Additionally, in 1974, the university expanded its academic offerings with the establishment of three additional departments:
